ROKU Software Developer (Mid/Senior)

The Roku team at Deltatre builds applications to run on millions of Roku TVs and provides the best user experience for watching video on-demand (movies and series) and live sport streams. As a Roku engineer, you will pioneer new ways for consumers to interact with technology and deliver world-class experiences on emerging technologies across a host of global clientele of the likes of WWE, Telecine, Bell Media and Britbox or you will be evolving and improving our main product – AXIS – according to product roadmap and in collaboration with other product Roku engineers, the Product Owner, QA and back-end engineers.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced top-notch developer to grow with our dev team. You will be involved from conception to completion with projects that are technologically sound and aesthetically impressive.

• Developing new user-facing features for Roku using Brightscript
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across a wide range of Roku hardware including the most resource-constrained
• likes to stay up-to-date with technology trends
• strives to deliver systematic fixes and high-quality features
• anticipates problems that others might have while using his/her code – and writes documentation or samples to help them
• is willing to work as an active team player
• appreciates peer review and understands the importance of QA and release deadlines
• As a Senior an opportunity to lead a team of developers across regions

A ROKU Engineer with a love for technology, and:

• At least 3 years commercial development experience with Brightscript / Actionscript / Python based technologies
• Strong proficiency in Brightscript
• Thorough understanding of the SceneGraph framework and its core principles
• Familiarity with Design Patterns like MVC and MVVM
• Experience integrating with third party libraries like Analytics, Advertising etc.
• Practice of Unit Testing
• Experience with build, submission and certification process of Roku applications
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git and build automation systems
• Previous explerience on OTT plaforms
• Strong communication skills, willingness to learn and self -reliance
