Senior Database Analyst

Our client is within the Telecommunications industry in London, UK and is looking for a Senior Database Analyst.

Main purpose of the Role:

·      Develop, manage and maintain data within SQL Server to enable accurate and consistent reporting

·      Monitor and manage data governance and security of Database.

·      Design reports using PowerBI to deliver consistent and live reporting metrics to the business.

·      Structure the data from Salesforce and other sources in central warehouse/database to enable reporting from multiple sources simply

·      Identify areas of improvement to existing reporting suite and offer recommendations to improve

·      Support development of other team members in understanding SQL Server

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

·      SQL scripting to create new reporting base line scripts as well as triage existing reporting failures whilst managing stakeholder expectations

·      Maintain ‘Cornerstone’ (database of all reports, scripts, rules, stakeholders)

·      Design and manage budget and forecasting models.

·      Data Warehouse management

·      Use business & data awareness to drive improvements in business reporting.

Essential Criteria

·      Qualified in SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI – Must be a very capable SQL coder

·      Database analytical and warehouse management experience

·      Strong decision making and communication skills

·      Must possess keen attention to detail

·      Experience with a broad range of analysis, modelling and research technique and tools

·      Able to develop broad knowledge and understanding of relevant business functions

·      Excellent stakeholder management skills at senior levels

Useful Experience

·      Used SSIS to connect to MySQL, PostgreSQL and other stats, transformed and structured data

·      Used API to access data from multiple sources to keep database up to date

·      Managed Data Warehouse previously
