Network and Security Engineer

Job summary

We are looking for Network and security engineer who has the experience necessary to help maintain, expand, upgrade, and troubleshoot network systems in complex IT infrastructures.

The candidate for this position:

•  Needs to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT industry (IT operations and development related)
• Will work under general supervision and report to a team lead or manager.
• Needs to be able to prioritize critical tasks and coordinate with other team members/team leads.
• A certain degree of creativity and decision making is required.

Responsibilities

• Part of the team responsible for the planning and engineering of our organization’s IT infrastructure as well as our client’s infrastructure. This includes the following:
• Design, plan, and perform installation and configuration of network devices and software in heterogeneous environments.
• Implement systems for performance and availability monitoring of network infrastructure and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Provide IT network infrastructure operations second level support
• Provide consultancy for our existing customers
• Provide pre-sales support for the sales team.

Requirements

• Have at least 3 complete years of relevant working experience with design/implementation/deployment / securing networks.
• Strong experience in the field of cybersecurity in LAN, WAN, and information technology.
• Focus on designing, implementing, deployment, monitoring, and controlling network equipment and processes using:

-Firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, pfSense)
-VPN / IPSEC
-Load Balancers
-Reverse Proxy, Proxy Devices
-Routers / Switches
-Network Tools (i.e. Wireshark, TCP Dump, Iperf)
-Operations Support Systems (i.e Nagios, Zabbix)

• Experience and knowledge of traditional and newer security controls and technologies, such as:

-Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
-Endpoint security software
-Privilege/vulnerability and threat management

• Well-rounded knowledge of all components part of the IT infrastructure:

– Windows Servers and workstations operating systems
– Virtualization
– Storage systems

• Advanced knowledge of IT operations best practices for security, management, monitoring, business continuity (any related knowledge/training/certification is a plus)
• Ability to create technical documentation: detailed architecture design, technical post-implementation, test plans, manuals etc.
• Creative, independent with good problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and writing skills in Macedonian and English
• 100% trustworthy, and able to maintain strict confidentiality
• A strong desire to learn new skills and technologies.
