Position Overview

We’re on the lookout for another GSIX.team member to join our product team for TableYeti.

TableYeti is a fast-growing startup focused on building a new type of hospitality experience for you, your staff and your customers.
We’ve processed over £1 Million worth of transactions so far, removing paper bills from the payment process with a mission to save the planet!

We need you back up here! You’ll be working with the core team based in the UK as well as the engineering team based in Skopje.

Employment Responsibilities:

You’ll be in charge of the core product parser, the monitoring infrastructure as well as the deployment pipeline.
Your day to day activities will be mostly around:
– Improving the current parser (totally OK if you want to redo it from scratch)
– Constant parser optimization – Deploying the parser as a separate microservice
– Daily communication with the team
– Setting up deployment pipelines for the backoffice, the parser, and the monitoring system.

Must-have Skills:

– Strong PHP or Python experience
– Knowledge of Bash scripting
– Previous experience with building parsers / scrapers
– Good understanding of algorithms and optimization
– Ability to write clean and maintainable code
– Good understanding and experience in building APIs
– Experience in using Linux
– Good communication skills
– Team player
– Strong work ethic

Nice-to-have Skills:

– Microservice architecture
– Experience with OCR (optical character recognition) (Tesseract)
– Knowledge of Laravel
– Experience with Raspberry Pi
– Experience in building software for Printers (preferably some CUPS experience)
