The client
We are Aviso Instruments. We develop measurement instruments and monitoring systems for technical equipment such as engines, pumps and couplings.

Aviso Instruments is a data-driven organization with the main objective to provide detailed, technical information on which management and operations departments can base their KPI’s and management decisions.

Our measurement instruments provide the technical and management information needed, both real-time and historically at any time and place, on any device. We develop monitoring solutions that find their application in the maritime, power generating or offshore-energy industry.

The project
REDS Maritime is an engine monitoring system that monitors the status, health and efficiency of an engine, by measuring the torsional vibrations in the engine. The system is intended to recognize functional deviations in a running engine, by measuring its mechanical and thermal health. This is done within one complete revolution of the crankshaft.

The REDS indicators provide detailed information about the performance of the engine and of its specific parts such as the cylinders bearings and nozzles. When deviations are detected the exact location and matter are shown on the user-friendly screen. This allows the user to take appropriate action to prevent component failure, engine failure and consequential damage.

About your team
For this project you will be working in cooperation with a Senior Developer based in The Netherlands. He has worked on multiple major applications and platforms and is now responsible for the technical architecture of this new application.

I’ve been programming for over 10 years now. Still learning new things every day
I’ve been writing software / applications in Django for the last three years.
I’ve worked with some very good developers and learned a lot about the best practices for Django.
I’m a very open, communicative person and like to share knowledge.
Obviously, the goal is to grow the team on short notice, as soon as the commercial success makes this possible.

Experience & skills
Minimum 1 year of experience with the Python language and Django framework in a professional environment
Experience with building API’s
You know your way around Javascript, HTML and AJAX
You can communicate clearly in English
You always work structured and accurate and get excited about any challenge presented to you
Considered a plus:

You have an affinity with IoT applications and machinery
Experience in PHP
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) of Informatics and computer engineering

Foreign languages
Minimum B1 (Intermediate)

Employment conditions
That will be discussed with the client and will be based on the developer’s experience in the required technologies and the outcome of the interview.
