3D Animator

Liaising with the team and management, and developing animation from their concepts
Creating storyboards that depict the script and narrative
Drawing in 2D to create sketches, artwork or illustrations
Designing models, backgrounds, sets, characters, objects and the animation environment
Developing the timing and pace of the movements of a character or object during the sequence of images and ensuring they follow the soundtrack and audio requirements
Building up accurate, detailed frame-by-frame visuals
Recording dialogue and working with editors to composite the various layers of animation (backgrounds, special effects, characters and graphics) in order to produce the finished piece
Working to production deadlines and meeting OpenBiz’ commercial requirements
Working as part of a broader production team, which might include liaising with printers, copywriters, photographers, designers, account executives, website designers or marketing specialists
Dealing with diverse business cultures, delivering presentations

Qualifications and training required: University degree. Excellent skills in using technical software packages, such as Photoshop CS6, Unity, 3ds Max, Maya, Mari 2.0v2, LightWave, Softimage, Flash and Cinema 4D. After effects is a plus. High level of English.
An animator should be creative and artistic, have drawing skills (and sculpting skills for stop frame animation using clay), have excellent IT skills, and be patient and able to concentrate for long periods, be interested in art and design. The candidate is required to have experience with project management systems, software development workflows and methodologies (Jira, Scrum, UML, Git etc.).

A good portfolio of work should be prepared to demonstrate abilities to employers for excellent self-motivation, entrepreneurship thinking, adaptability, commercial awareness, ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, good team working skills, attention to detail, creativity, and ability to produce innovative and original ideas.
