What will your role be?

Endava has established a delivery unit in Skopje complementing its delivery capabilities across Central and Eastern Europe. As part of that continued expansion new opportunity has now arisen – that of Head of Development Skopje.

This role represents a rare opportunity for a strong candidate to work in a fast growing international business environment growing further our software engineering capability while having the support of an established development organisation across the wider Endava.

As the Head of Development you will be responsible for Discipline alignment, consistency and governance, best practices identification and sharing, creation and maintenance of the Endava culture within Discipline, career planning and promotion sign off, salary decisions and budgeting, and development of a strategic bench.

Applicants must have significant demonstrable experience in managing a development practice or department & delivering commercial projects, and be experts in agile and/or planned iterative methodologies. Key attributes include strong communication skills, commercial awareness, client facing skills and effective people management and relationship skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Attract/recruit, retain and develop the best talent. Enable people to become the best that they can be

• Actively provide support and engage with the clients and other stakeholders by anticipating demand in advance and planning capacity to meet that demand. Make people assignments to projects that reflect their capabilities, development aspirations and match project requirements

• Contribute to Endava becoming the Employer of Choice in the market. Actively engage and demonstrate thought leadership in the local IT community

• Actively participate in the budget planning and execution for the development discipline

• Pre-sales support – actively contribute to business winning (bids)

• Provide support to client/prospect visits to Skopje offices and offer a truly great experience by uncovering the key strengths/capabilities of the Development discipline, the location and the teams that fit the client needs

• Support and work in collaboration with other local Heads of Disciplines and Discipline Leads, as well as stakeholders in the wider Endava business to successfully deliver projects from Skopje, improve delivery methods and deliver a consistent client experience

• Work in collaboration with Heads of Development from other locations as well as with the Endava Group Head of Development to contribute to best practices and growth of development capabilities

• Adopt The Endava Delivery Model as the method of choice for all project activities and ensure successful projects deliveries

• Encourage a culture of engineering excellence. Establish Quality, Productivity and Innovation as key Endava differentiators.
Mandatory Skills:

• Experienced in commercial activities in either Java or .NET development stacks and aware of the other technologies Endava projects use (JavaScript, PhP, Scala, etc.);

• Experienced in enterprise development, including integration, service orientation, BI, web and desktop development;

• Experienced in using formal development methodologies, including Agile Scrum and RUP, and the full application development  lifecycle;

• Knowledgeable in XP concepts, including continuous integration, unit testing and automated code quality reporting;

• Capable of evangelising technology, techniques and development best practice internally;

• Experienced in mentoring and leading large teams of people;

• Excellent English communication skills.
