Senior Applications Management Engineer

Role Description:

Working with the Endava Applications Management team you will provide sustaining support to already developed applications while having the opportunity to add new or change existing functionalities, aim towards improvement and maintenance throughout the project lifecycle. Endava is looking for team members that can both operate independently and within a team, as the requirement arises. Applications Management Engineers need to be self-sufficient problem solvers, apply excellent judgement, rapid decision making, use commercial awareness and have strong communication skills as this is a client facing role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development of technical change requests and defect corrections of the existing applications, as well as for some product software development

• Technical investigation and analysis of incidents, problem replication, fault diagnosis, code fix, and call closure to customer satisfaction, following all required project processes.

• Deploy fixes into staging and production

• Proactively optimize and enable smooth running of all applications used by the clients such as web servers and database servers, aiming to automate processes as much as possible

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of primary products and a good level of knowledge of secondary products

• Implement and test new software development as well as upgrade and maintain existing systems. This encompasses all levels of architecture from user interfaces to databases

• To provide responsive assistance to customer requests for software support

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Assistance in the production and maintenance of Applications Management procedures and reporting

• Maintain and enhance key customer relationships through a series of meetings and customer visits from time to time as required

• Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of Endava developed software applications  

Qualifications

Mandatory skills:

• Advanced knowledge of .NET development and Microsoft Technologies

• Solid OOP knowledge

• Good knowledge in Web services, Internet applications, Back-end systems

• Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery AJAX and XML would be considered as an asset

• Experience with advanced database development: stored procedures, query optimization, indexing techniques

• Relevant experience in troubleshooting, supporting, and/or administering applications

Soft skills:

• Autonomous and analytical problem solver

• Shows initiative, understands responsibility and is influential within his team and the wider organization

• Advanced written and spoken English communication skills are essential
