Our client partner is searching for a Senior Backend Developer who is an expert in Java and Node.js.
Our client partner, Placester, power websites and other marketing tools for US based Real Estate Agents and Brokerages.
We are looking for a senior backend developer who could potentially lead a team of three to four other developers. You would be the most senior person on the team and be proficient in Java and Node.js.
You will be the primary and the expectation is that you will be able to “figure it out”. Do not expect a lot of documentation. The right candidate for this role will learn by doing, communicating effectively with others inside and outside of Engineering and figure the rest out through Google and YouTube.
You will join a team that is primarily based in Katowice, Poland but will work with a globally distributed team. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering who has a strong background in DevOps and Operations.
Salary
180,000MKD net
Working Hours
1200 – 2000 CEST (work from home)
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the majority of Placester’s backend APIs.
- Primary responsibility for Placester database data model, performance and overall design.
- Primary responsibility for keeping Placester APIs well documented using Postman.
- Collaborates with other teams to define API contracts.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines built in GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy.
Qualifications
- Expert in Java API development and Node.js.
- Experience in GitHub Actions and the yaml files that drive them is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of C# or willingness to learn is a strong plus.
- Strong ability to figure things out with a minimum of internal documentation.
- Very strong communications skills in English including the ability to speak “in business terms” with stakeholders and “in technical terms” with other members of the Engineering Team.
